We attended the "Meet The Team", but not the Big Ten Network reception.

We generally ignore the cable/dish discussion as we watch so little TV that an antenna is perfectly fine for us. Also with season tickets and going to at least one away game we only have to find a bar for the one or two games that don't make it on an OTA network.

The president of the Big Ten Network Silverstein(UCLA undergrad and Michgan grad) and Delaney both spoke at Meet-The-Team. Basically it was negative towards Comcast. They talked about all the games being broadcast, including every one of the basketball games. My spouse and I were not sure that was a good thing ;-) at least in regards to bball.

Meet-The-Team was fun. It is surprising they don't have better attendence with free goose island beer -- we love the 312. Fitz had a good rah rah speech and all the position seniors were well-spoken. Mims was particularly amusing revealing or making up nicknames for all the D-line -- Corey "woo-woo" Wooten.

We are still amazed that Tonjua Jones is a captain after displaying the surprising lack of ability to make a catch -- see Sun Bowl. We love our players, but some will never be ready to play major college football.

Did anyone attend the reception for season ticket holders on Saturday afternoon (before "Meet-the-Team Night") with the president of the Big Ten Network and Jim Delaney? I was planning to attend, but ironically, I was stuck at home while I had DirectTV installed. The DirectTV seems great so far, but I'm just hoping the big dish now on top of my house doesn't blow away.

In any event, if anyone attended the Big Ten Network presentation, did you learn anything new? I think we've learned that most of the coverage on the BTN will be in high definition, but will anyone actually be carrying the HD broadcasts? I think I heard on this List that DirectTV won't be carrying any of the broadcasts in HD. If DirectTV isn't carrying the broadcasts in HD, then who the heck is?

Seems like a no-brainer to me.
