I guess it depends. I had Comcast for years in Indiana
before switching to DirecTV. It was definitely less
for the DirecTV basic package compared to Comcast -
plus there were more channels and ... unlike cable ...
if I ordered a sports package or movie package, it was
on all the TVs in the place and not just the one with
the main receiver.

In Arizona, from what I hear Cox is one of the better
cable companies for service. But their base package is
essentially the same price ($42.95 vs. $44.95), but
the DirecTV one has twice as many channels.

Yeah, you miss the local access or CLTV in Chicago,
but as Alan said, with the Big Ten Network here in AZ
and NFL Sunday Ticket, DirecTV is the choice for
football fans (unless you can't put a satellite out on
your apartment deck or something).

GO CATS!!!
