Joe and Friends,

We're all not sure how BTN and broadcast rights will pan out .Me thinks
that while there isn't a conspiracy, the big 4 (Mich., OSU, Penn St., Wisc.)
will see most of their games on ABC/ESPN/ESPN2, and the other 7 will scrap for
TV time on BTN.
Of course, no one will admit to this; but maybe we (maybe I?) should
calculate who is broadcast on which network. I think BTN will cash in on selected
games early in the season featuring non-competitive games featuring The Big
4, then the Big 4 will move to the major networks after the non-con season is
over.
While I muse that last year's football games on ESPN plus were on "free"
TV and this year we'll pay, it looks like our basketball team will be on the
tube many more times this season, as well as our "totally excellent" women's
lacrosse team. As such, I'm "slightly PO'd" but still want to give BTN a
chance.
That said, I'm a Comcast subscriber, and I'm shocked that no deal has
been made, not even on Comcast's tier stations. The past 10 years, NU has been on
the tube 7-9 times a year. If no deal is made between BTN and Comcast, that
number would be cut to 3-7, depending on our record.
My 2007 prediction is on hold, but I think we'll be in the first division
barring major injuries. My prediction will be forthcoming as Kenosha unfolds.

  As always, GO CATS!!! Eric
