I think if the basketball dept was really smart, they'd offer him a scholarship even if he'd end up being the worst player on the team. We've certainly given out schollies to some pretty useless players in the past, so what difference would it make in that regard? The positive would be Michael Jordan coming to games and likely to practices. Not only would it raise the profile of the program, it might do great things for recruiting -- kids coming in would know they would have the chance to hang out with Michael Jordan!
>From what I saw, his only schollie offer was from Davidson. A schollie from NU would be very hard to refuse for many reasons, and certainly better than walking on at Illinois.
