[NU Sports] One Shining Moment

Paul, please don't misunderstand my premise here....
But that attitude was the one that almost led NU to quit the Big 10 back when we
were both in Evanston. Outside of a few "country club" sports [Tennis and Golf],
NU was not a bastion of athletic excellence. You probably remember the attempts
by some faculty to kill off all Div I athletics so NU could concentrate on being
an solely academic institution, using the U of Chicago model.
Forget that U of Chicago later embraced more athletics to recruit a more
balanced student body.
Anyway, I personally thin the biggest effect of the game last night on the
Wildcats is that now Oden and Conley [sic] will come back for another shot at
the NCAA.
