BTW - don't get me wrong, if we had an opening and Joe G would take the pay and
facility cut, I'd love to see him in the dugout at NU.
 
I just don't think he'll take the cut and the aggravation of running a young
team right now.

NU's coach may develop players (or his assistants do) but he has never won a Big
Ten that I can remember.  If Girardi was willing to take the kind of pay cut
necessary to come to NU that would be the biggest boost NU's baseball program
could ever get.  Don't count on it.

No, I think Joe G. will be in Wrigley next year, and since the owner doesn't sit

in a box and bitch at the umpires during games, he'll do fine.



I don't know who the Marlins hoped to attract when they did hire Joe G, but he

hasn't been on the inside of anything since his hiring last winter.
