What a colossal collapse in East Lansing - you gotta
think Smith is a goner unless he makes something
magical happen during the Big Ten slate. Just a total
collapse.

The shame is, if MSU hangs on we probably have an
extra BCS slot open up unless the Irish win at SC. I
think we have a pretty good shot at a second BCS bid
anyway, especially if UM and OSU run the table until
their game, but it'd be nice to have that extra spot
open.

Hopefully this won't fool people into thinking the
Irish are back - it's far more of a Sparty collapse
than a resurgence of the Irish into the national title
hunt. But they'll probably run the table until SC now
with the soft part of the schedule ahead.

Good day of Big Ten football - some nice,
slobberknocker games in Ann Arbor and Columbus (PSU's
rookie QB struggles are mirroring ours - they were
right in that game until the last 3:00). I did see the
end of Purdue-Minnesota though, and the Gophers were
robbed by a pass interference call late on a ball that
was about 10 yards out of bounds.

It'll be interesting to see if MSU and Minny can
rebound from tough defeats or if they will slide back.
As for Purdue, I don't think they'll have enough to
beat the Irish next week, but they should be back in
the bowl picture.
