[NU Sports] We will beat Nevada

I wish that I had the same optimism, but we will have to play much better
against UNR than we did the last two weeks in order to win in Reno. They have
a good quarterback, always a challenge for Colby's soft prevent defenses.
Fresno State is a lot better than either UNH or EMU, so that loss by UNR does
not inspire much reassurance. Nevada handily beat Colorado State and would
love now to knock off a Big Ten team. Wildcat coaches and players must be
ready for the battle of their lives in Reno tomorrow night. If we're again flat
and lackluster, we definitely will lose, go into the Big Ten schedule with a
mediocre 2-2 record, and I expect the season could then really start to
unravel. This is an absolutely critical point in the 2006 season with our bowl
hopes probably at stake.

Fellow Wildcat Faithful,

I watched part of Nevada's opener against Frenso State. They really didn't
look
that good. True, our team is struggling, but I am confident we will come away
with a win. We've got the better defense, the better running game, and need
the
win more.

Given that our QB hesitates on tough passes but likes to run, I hope we mix
in
some 5 WR sets to REALLY spread the defense. Let Kafka run. When he's tired,
he'll start passing :-)

Victory & Honor,
Jim
