Don't forget the weather.

I worry about playing southern schools in late August.  Hot and 
humid.  Yuck!

And don't even think about scheduling non-conference games in the 
middle of the Big Ten season.  That is just WRONG!

Some comments have been made about not playing Duke because they suck 
or similar thoughts.  Things change.  Duke prior to 1995 owned us.  
Stanford in the 90s was a pretty good team, including a Rose Bowl loss 
to the Cheeseheads.  

We have to schedule based on fit, including downside effect of a 
loss.  We lose a lot less prestige losing to a sucky team from a BCS 
conference than losing to a good/very good D-1AA.  On the other hand 
it is a home only series since we pony up the $$$($300K for NH).

Overall I would rather see an additional Big Ten game(9 conference 
games) than attend a non-conference game that I care little about.
