[NU Sports] I may have been misunderstood

... my original post said that I would get "EXCITED"
over an all-BCS league non-con slate.
While that would be an exciting prospect, I actually
agree with Chuck (to a point) that some soft touches
are the way to go.
I also was not advocating a 4-game non-con slate of
UCLA, Notre Dame, Texas and Florida. More like
rotating series with Wake Forest, Duke, Vanderbilt,
Army, Navy, Stanford, Boston College, Rutgers,
Washington State, Mississippi, say. Maybe a very few
non-BCS teams with academic prestige (Tulane). Throw
in a bow-wow game vs. an EMU once in a while (never on
the road) and a stretch once in a while vs. a Virginia
or California. I really don't think NU would choke on
such a diet. Might draw better, too.
What I hate most, and want to avoid, are games with
Nevada, Hawaii, TCU, etc.; not much to gain from
these. They draw poorly at home and we get whacked in
embarrassing losses on the road -- as I fully expect
will happen Friday, BTW.
But, as I said, Chuck's points are well-taken and may
be the realistic route.
Let's make this simple: if N*** D*** offered NU a
home-and-home (ie, in Dyche) contract, should we take
it? I say yes.

"We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof, and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law.
"We will not walk in fear, one of another. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason, if we dig deep in our history and our doctrine, and remember that we are not descended from fearful men, not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate, and to defend causes that were for the moment unpopular." -- Edward R. Murrow, 1954.
