What difference does what light-weights we schedule for non-conference 
games.  We can't win them all anyway.  Remember Wake Forest?  Duke?  Bowling 
Green?  New Hampshire?  Rice?  Hawaii?

While I would like us to have some tough non conference games, we can't 
forget that many of our brethren have a bunch patsy non conference games as 
well--The list in endless, but look at recent games played by Penn State, Ohio State, 
and  Illinois (at least they thought Syracuse was no good !)  ND was playing 
the service academies when they were lousy as well--though for once I won't 
criticize the hated ND, because those have been tradtional games for decades 
even if they have a 40 year winning streak against Navy

However do we really want to go to a lousy bowl game if we are 2-6 or 3-5 in 
BT play because we beat up on 3 or 4 patsies, and we get picked because we are 
"bowl eligible" and the bowl committee figures we bring the Chicago TV market 
?  I don't.
