Just back from Evanston, a picture perfect day. A lot more students than last week, but another very sparse crowd, especially considering the weather. If last week was just over 20K, then this crowd was probably similar. Alas, those not in attendance didn't miss much. As mentioned previously, the O-Line was horrific. EMU usually rushed 4 linemen, with a linebacker charging in from time to time. Still, the O-Line could not dominate a bad MAC team.
The defense played well, in that they stopped EMU most of the time. I tend to agree with the earlier poster that the EMU offense is horrific, but it was still nice to shutdown somebody.
Special teams were worrisome - they had an excellent punter, and as both sides traded 3-and-outs, EMU tended to drift closer and closer to the end zone.
This game is going to be played in Ford Field next season ? Will there even be 5,000 curious people in attendance ? Does everybody in Ypsilanti get a free ticket ?
Again, agreement with the earlier poster - a defensive battle can be interesting, but two horrific offenses slugging it out is almost always difficult to watch - and this was.
