Brewer took a knee at the end of the Miami of Ohio game, and that has
been his only appearance. The coaches may be playing it safe and
keeping him on the sideline to avoid injury since Bacher has not been
in pads and has a brace on his leg because of his leg stress fracture
- leaving only 2 QBs (although I guess Mauro is available although
they would like him to redshirt this year). It is good that they are
helping to instill some confidence in Kafka by leaving him in -
especially after his two turnovers this past game.
Speaking of confidence, it is good to see Howells in there doing a
fine job kicking - both on kickoffs and XPs/FGs, especially after the
Sun Bowl last year. Coach Walker always stuck with him and showed
confidence in him, and I think we're seeing that pay off this year.
