[NU Sports] NU-HH

The Dish services carry everything because they're not regional. We have Comcast
which is centered mainly in the Northeast. They could care less about anything
past Ohio.

I have asked for ESPNU to be added to our cable - I've been told "they're
working on it."

Maybe we'll have a better chance of getting more of the games nationwide when
Verizon gets permission to add cable to their FIOS network.

But it seems weird that ESPNU games aren't also part of a PPV package available
in areas without cable coverage. Of course then the Cable companies won't be
hearing from folks like me all the time.

I'm not shilling for Dish satellite service, bu that is why we went that way to
get their college football package. It's true that they aren't carrying the
NU-New Hampshire game but they carry or have carried a lot of NU games over the
years that we have bought the package. I'm guessing that the other satellite
services have similar packages.

According to the NU SID office there is no TV anywhere.

I have my suspicion that is going to happen more than once this season,

as I think the Big 10 is trying to build up demand for their OPPV channel(s)

next season. It sucks, and I (sort of) hope it backfires. (I already

think the move to a 12 game season has lowered the quality of the

non-conference opponents for well over half of the teams in 1-A.)

The decision to put the Miami game on ESPNU, which, like many cable

systems, my cable system doesn't carry, sucked too.

It would not surprise me if it turns out I'll be able to watch more Boise

State games than Northwestern games this season. Nebraska's game against

Nowhere State, oops, I mean Nicholls State, isn't on TV this weekend, either,

not even on OPPV (overpriced pay per view).

I used to be an active Cubs fan, too. Now it seems like less than half the

games are on WGN and none of them are on the Internet, and I doubt I've

watched more than 2 or 3 games all season, helped in part by my having been

on the road for about 5 weeks since the season opened. I doubt I could

name more than 2 or 3 players on the team roster today. And for the first

time in many years I didn't bother to watch the All Star Game. Who won?
