[NU Sports] Three pointer

Thanks for bringing back that "warm and fuzzy" feeling I get when I think  
about our "bageling" of Princeton 20 years ago.  I was there, and it was a  
horrible, rainy, windy day just like today is in the Northeast, thanks to  
"Ernesto", in Princeton's now-abandoned and then-crumbling Palmer Stadium.
 
Princeton was one of my "rejections" (Penn was my first choice.), as I  ended 
up at NU because my Eastern school choices decided I wasn't up to their  
elite standards.  The revenge factor was quite sweet for me personally, as  our 
intellectually-gifted "scholarship" athletes destroyed their  
intellectually-gifted Ivy League scholar-athletes (the Ivies, of course,  wouldn't stoop to give 
scholarships).  Their QB fumbled the first snap from  center, we scored, and 
the rout was on.
 
This was in the era when "conventional wisdom" was pushing for Northwestern  
to be kicked out of the Big Ten and to join the Ivy League.  Boy, am I ever  
glad that such a confounded idea never was carried out!  There would have  been 
no "Purple to Pasadena", no win over OSU, no GB, no RW, no Fitz, no  Basanez, 
no 'Cardiac Cats, etc., etc.,......
 
Anyway, thanks for the memories....
