As for the Cats, I could only listen in on radio, but I was mighty
impressed with what i heard. The D was surprisingly stout given the
lack of early offensive production, and then Kafka and the gang really
stepped up at some crucial moments.
Sounds like Miami is in the midst of a rebuilding year, but they are by
no means a "little guy", at least not in comparison to NU. Beating them
at home is a significant accomplishment in any season.
I suspect many ups and downs in the year ahead, but I couldn't have
asked for much more for a tough opener on the road.
I'm sure there was a bit of an emotional rush going on as well--it will
be interesting to see how this bunch of Cats handles things as they
settle into more of the football season routine. I suspect having a few
extra days off between games 1 and 2 could be really beneficial.
3 points--now that's a nice change!
