[NU Sports] Our "D"

Happy to help you find the silver lining.

1. We have a QB.

Hopefully he didn't get too seriously dinged toward the end of the game, but
he showed a lot of guts out there.  He made mistakes, but those are the sort
of mistakes that we would rather him make this season as he learns his
position.

2. We have a defense

It may not be the best in the league, but they were flying around today.
They stuffed the run on a team that would gladly have run on every down.

3. We can play in this league

The mistakes of a young QB are going to continue to make it difficult to win
this year, but we can definitely field a team that is going to compete. 

4. We can play four quarters

This team was out there competing the whole game today.  I'm really looking
forward to the OSU game.

I hope you're right, and the Cats appeared to play a gutty game. But I am
dubious that this game offered proof that we will have a good defense next
season. (May I please be wrong.) I think what we saw today was an uninspired
Michigan offense playing conservatively in deference to horrible weather
conditions and a defense that knew it could stop us at will. Their DL was
embarrassingly better than our OL.
