And while he's at it, he should fire Fitz and appoint himself the head
coach, or maybe just take pliers and emasculate Fitz, because that's what
such a move would do to Fitz's coaching career at NU.

The HEAD COACH has to be in charge of the program, including decisions about
assistant coaches, otherwise he's a head coach in name only.  

Name me ONE successful program where the AD calls the shots in the football 
program (unless he's also the head football coach.)
