The only thing I'll disagree with is to point out that Homecoming is
next week.

I don't know what it is like at Ryan, but seeing us afraid to use Brewer to throw, afraid of a mistake at all on offense, so totally predicatable is frustrating beyond belief. You can hear the boos quite clearly on TV, so I think I am not alone. I swore I would not utter any negative words about the 'Cats on the list, in the wake of Coach Walker's death and to give Fitz and his staff the Honeymoon to which they are entitled, but I can't take it any longer. We just wasted Tyrell Sutton's wonderful 54-yard run with offensive play calling that is straight out of the Amos Alonzo Stagg Era--or maybe Jim Thorpe's. Whatever happened to a pass on first or second down? Do we have a Tight End? If so, does McGhee have any calls that use his skills? When I was at NU our big cheers were "Let's Go North" or "Let's Go South". Now it's a Hobson's Choice: "Let's Go East (or West)" or the always-popular "Let's Go Nowhere" or "Let's Go Ba!

I really thought we had a chance today, and with the missed field goals, I was hoping that a little magic was in the air. But our failure of nerve has seemingly doomed us--although there are still 9 minutes or so left to play. And I refuse to give up on a 'Cat team with that much time left.......And Indiana is in process of possibly upsetting the Hawkeyes, so who knows.....
