Hopefully we'll have standings by this time next week
(kinda like the BCS?:) ), but for now we have the week
7 lineup. We have a THURSDAY NIGHT game this week, so
don't forget to get your picks in by kickoff in the
ACC on THURSDAY.
Another good week here, and even though Auburn lost,
the biggie is still the SEC showdown in Jordan-Hare
Stadium with the Gators. The night game at Happy
Valley ain't too shabby either ... and Thursday's
night's ACC clash is essentially an elimination game
for the title hunt.

MY PICKS
========
* ILLINOIS 30, Ohio 13
C: Bowl fever died quickly in Illiniland, but they
still should beat the Bobcats.
* IOWA 42, Indiana 10
C: Another Hawkeye tuneup as they prepare to visit the
Big House for a big one next week.
* MICHIGAN 21, Penn State 17
C: Could be the game of the day, with another electric
night atmosphere (ala last year's OSU game) in Happy
Valley for a big game. Problem is, Lloyd has JoePa's
number and Michigan has the better talent on both
sides of the ball. The crowd keeps it close, but not
enough.
* OHIO STATE 38, Michigan State 9
C: Sparty didn't put up much fight against rival
Michigan so the boo birds could be out early as
Philly, er, Sparty fans prepare the torches while the
nation's #1 team just plain torches MSU's defense.
* WISCONSIN 27, Minnesota 17
C: Dangerous game here as you figure Minny's gotta get
one of these close ones soon ... but not in Madison,
as the Badgers quietly move to 6-1.
* BOSTON COLLEGE 20, Virginia Tech 17
C: In Blacksburg, this is a Tech rout - especially
under the lights. But at BC, the Eagles luck another
one out.
* AUBURN 13, Florida 9
C: The brutal schedule took its toll on the Tigers
last week, now it's the Gators turn as they slip up in
a brutal defensive slugfest on the Plains at night.
* ALABAMA 23, Mississippi 16
C: Closer than it should be, but the Tide still win in
the SEC day headliner.
* SOUTHERN CAL 30, Arizona State 24
C: The Trojans are living a charmed life and due to
get burned by playing with fire ... but the Sun Devils
are truly a cursed team and blow a big lead here late.
* OREGON 37, UCLA 17
C: The Ducks rebound from last week's prime-time
debacle to rip the Bruins at home.
And off the board ...
* NORTHWESTERN 21, Purdue 13
C: After a rough road stretch, the Cats return home
and get a needed boost at the right time against the
pesky Boilers, still stinging from last week's
whuppin' in Kinnich. I hope ... I hope ... :)
GO CATS!!!
