[NU Sports] espn360

FWIW - I have watched almost every NU game on ESPN+ on my computer for at least
the past 4 years, maybe since they started providing streaming video. I've also
watch games on 360 and while ESPN GamePlan [PPV] is a little fuzzy at high
resolution, at least it doesn't stop and start like ESPN360.
I run a comcast Cable link into my house, and have my laptop [LCD screen] on a
100 BT connection. It runs fine, except that its about 3-5 seconds behind WGN
and the chat. It becomes like an instant replace [with instant replays] and once
you're used to chatting and watching its fine.
360 makes use of game technology and is primarily designed for that usage, altho
you can stream video.
NU Sports and CSTV is using some kind of Flash product that doesn't like any of
my computer configurations [Firefox, IE7, Media Player 12 beta] so I can't
comment on that. I used to be able to watch the press conference, but now it
tells me to reinstall all the older software, which I am not willing to do....
I'd prefer that all the internet streaming guys would settle on either Real
Player or Media Player [or something else that's open code] so those who ould
buy coverage can pay for it, and those who don't can just listen.
While I think Comcast should subscribe to ESPN360 and it would make me happy,
why should a zillion others pay a fee to ESPN so I can watch a couple of games a
year. Gameplan costs me a lot, but its worth it to be able to watch what I want.
I just wish they broadcast all the Div I games on PPV.
>From a financial perspective, I'd rather have 20 bucks a head from guys at home,
than 100% of the zero bucks they're getting from Comcast right now. Comcast also
doesn't carry ESPN-U, probably because they want to bundle it with 360.
I really thought the "Mouse" was smarter than that....
