I was referring specifically to the subset of those over 35 who don't
understand the internet. This type of individual, with vast personal wealth
or a position of leadership in a business, and the opportunity to make an
internet-related business decision, generally makes decisions which carry
negative consequences for their monetary interests or those of their
company. Savvy CEOs will screen out these types so that bad business
decisions regarding the internet are avoided. It is important that decision
makers understand the cultural and technical realities underlying the
internet. ESPN clearly does not.

Might be better to just put down the shovel and walk away. <g>
What about the subset of those under 35 who underestimate the wisdom and
experience of those who (for goodness sake) built the darn Internet for you
young pups?
At least the horizon of youth has extended from 30 (when we were younger
than that) to 35. I suppose that is progress.
If I knew at 26 what I know now at 56, I wouldn't have made as many
mistakes. But then what I know now at 56 is the result of all of the
mistakes that I made (and survived) as a younger man.
So on second thought, you can have the shovel back. Dig away. Your
youthful myopia will someday produce a wiser man.
