It WAS a nice win, but it also demonstrated how vulnerable the program is
with the current set of kids. If NU can't make three's this game is over
because Miami would have played zone the rest of the evening. Also Miami
was able to overcome a ten point lead with a couple of minutes to go just by
fouling and trading one point for two or three on their end.
It is always fun to see this offense getting those cheap back cuts to the
basket. It is also encouraging to see the team play good defense. But if
you don't have the ability to protect a lead because of poor free throw
shooting, you have put yourself in the position where the other guys are
always going to be able to make a run at the end of the game. Also if your
style of offense is geared to take time off the clock, you can't afford to
get behind by much because you aren't really setup to make a run on anybody.

A nice win! Great to have it on national TV. I thought Carmody out-coached
Haith. Haith had a relative die on Saturday, so his head might not have been
totally in the game these last few days.
Miami sure had some athletic players.
