>From what I saw....
Moore is breaking out of his early season funk - BC alluded to his ankle injury
and that he had recovered [tore off the tape and the brace].
Sterling Williams is turning into a defensive machine - they don't keep a "shots
made over" state, but he has to be close to the bottom in terms of other team's
points scored. He ever gets his shooting stroke going...
Kevin Coble is turning into a real presence inside and out. His play means that
opponents have to guard both him and Doyle up front.
Jeremy Nash and Jeff Ryan are starting to show they belong on the floor for the
Wildcats.
Vince Scott is turning into a 6-10 point guard with a few nifty passes last
night that should have led to scores and assists for him. Ivan Tolic is finally
able to play and contributed more than just his 4 points in 12 minutes. How
often do you see 4 assists from centers?
Weak spot? - same old story, offensive rebounds. We had 5 to Miami's 19 leading
to Miami scoring 14 2nd chance points. Miami was way behind in Points in the
Paint until the end of the game when they finally were able to work inside. But
then many of those points inside were put backs. NU did get 17 points off
Miami's 13 turnovers.
You gotta love Tim Doyle's play and passing on the court, you don't have to love
his freethrow shooting last night [7 of 11], but then the Cats shot only 55%
from the charity stripe
Anyway, this team showed they can force a high scoring running team into their
game. Coach Henderson "fixed" Moore's 3 point shot, maybe now they can work on
free throws?
But this was a really nice win as the Cats head into finals...
