[NU Sports] The Bill Carmody Experience ?

I think this team has the first vocal on floor leader since Jitim graduated in
Tim Doyle.
I think Craig Moore, if he's following the way he played at the end of last
season, is another outspoken kid on the floor, and isn't afraid to direct
traffic with anyone, even seniors.
While its bad form to quote yourself when discussing something, I did write a
column yesterday about vocal leaders - it was primarily about Doyle and what was
reported about the DePaul game.
Carmody's system requires aggressive control in its players. They've got to take
the shot when its open and drop it in. Coble is that kind of kid, and with time,
Williams and some of the Sophs will also get that kind of confidence.
Vedran had that confidence his first year, but as he matured, he almost mellowed
out. Davor had a similar personality. Not that they weren't driven to succeed -
and I certainly wouldn't try to stoop Vedran when he was driving to the basket,
but sometimes I wonder if BC's attraction as a coach, with his intricate system
of play, doesn't attract the more cerebral player who plays under control all
the time.
Doyle plays well in the system, but he also talks all game. The schedule magnet
from Fast Break this year has a great picture of Doyle pointing and yelling.
I haven't seen an NU Basketball picture of that since Jitim graduated.
