[NU Sports] DC Rumors

Saw this in the Chicago Sun-Times this morning:

So VO was our co-DC in 1997 and 1998 (with Jerry Brown), after Vanderlinden left.  Okruh then followed GB to Colorado, leaving JB as the sole DC.
 
This season he came to Champaign to take over DC chores for Zook.
 
Anybody hear anything about this rumor ?  While VO did coach the D-line during Pat Fitzgerald's years, he didn't take over the linebackers until after Fitz had left.  Also, Fitz' entry in the Media Guide quotes Barnett, Vanderlinden and Brandon praising Fitz, but does NOT quote Okruh.
 
So is there still a connection ?  Has the Okruh D at Illinois been better than under his predecessor ?  What about VO's 2 years in the wilderness ?  One year as DC at Western Illinois, and a year as linebackers coach at Louisiana-Monroe (spelled 'Munroe' in the Illinois Media Guide) ?
 
Or is Ron Zook trying to send some kind of message to Evanston ?
 
Do we see a shuffling involving Colby, Brown and Okruh this off-season ?
