I agree the storylines are great - but I want the johnny-come-lately's to eat at the feast one table below us.

There's alot of money on the table, and I want us to get as much of that money as possible.

Last year the Bowls handed out about $190 million, the Big Ten split about $44 million, so we ended up (on paper) with about $4 million (actually less, since the splits are after expenses, etc.)

That works out to be just over 2% of the total, pretty close to what the split would be if they just divided $190 million between the 45 teams in the Big Ten, Pac 10, SEC and Big 12.

So I want to cling to that 2%, and prevent anything that might diminish it.

Which is how the old, entrenched conferences are supposed to think about it...lol

Louisville's rise to a Top 10 team has been interesting to watch, as well.

Let's hope the fans at Rutgers don't get unreasonable expectations about
staying in the top 10 (or 25) year after year, like the fans at some other
Johnny-come-lately schools have done.

Personally, I'm not a snob, and I would have enjoyed seeing a school
like Louisville make it to the national championship game, regardless of the
outcome. I doubt Rutgers will pull that trick off, even if they win their
last two games (which I think they well might!)

Maybe we should hope for losses by both Ohio State and Michigan so there
are just two undefeated schools left--Rutgers and Boise State. The football
world as we know it might end!

Oddly enough, fans seem to relish it when a Cinderella school makes it to
the Final Four, but I don't see that attitude in 1-A football. Too much
money on the table, I suppose.
