[NU Sports] The "I Quit" Syndrome

My original intent was to let the entire Schooler controversy pass
without comment because, frankly, that's all I thought it was worth.
However, Michael's post below changed my mind. There was absolutely
nothing about Bob's post that was intended to be, or was,
light-hearted. It was a mean spirited personal attack on someone who is
a long-time member of this list and someone I consider a friend. Even
if he wasn't a friend of mine, he wouldn't deserve to be attacked like
that in a public forum.
Whether Bob chooses to resign from the list is his business. After that
post, I am not terribly upset to see him go. Unfortunately, several
posts have devolved into mean spirited attacks on people on the list or
involved in NU athletics that have impugned their personal character
rather than actions. That has no place on this list.
We have always had digressions from NU athletics from time to time.
It's only natural and as long as Mike is willing to tolerate it and it
doesn't get into personal name calling, what's the harm? However, let's
use this unfortunate incident as a learning tool and not allow the list
to turn into a instrument for any member's personal agenda of revenge or
settling of old scores. We're all family here.
