Before complaining about the Cubs and/or Cub fans try living in the
Philadelphia area like I do. It's no wonder that baseball players try
not to have to play for the Phillies. The kind of "roll model" players
that the 76ers have says it all a about Philadelphia fans. I ran across
one guy who used to play for the Eagles who tells the story about coming
out after the first half of one game when the Eagles were ahead but not
by enough to satisfy the Eagles fans and getting booed. The Flyers'
general manager Bobby Clarke is a bozo from the Broad Street Bullies era
and still thinks that you have to sign those kind of guys and play that
kind of game to win in the NHL which probably goes a long way to
demonstrating why they never win much of anything.

For my wife, a Penn State grad, a great weekend is going to Chicago and
seeing the Cubs on Friday and then going to see the Cats on Saturday.
