Back to NU...

NU is regarded as a stuck-up no-fun egghead institution, not a party school like the rest of the big ten.

Anything that portrays NU coeds as bright, attractive, human, and fun-loving improves NUs reputation.  Sometimes you have to be silly to be endearing and flip-flops, light hazing, etc. are examples of this.

We want well-rounded high school students going to NU, not 4.0 GPA, 1600 SAT introverts who have no social skills.  Stories such as these are free "advertisements" and they even have a more profound affect when written/reported by Brennan, Wilbom, Adande, etc.

At work I received quite a bit of "kidding" about this topic, but it was all good-natured and none of the comments had the words like scandal, etc.
