[NU Sports] Soccer cats hazing -- blown out of proportion

I think one of the reasons NU's "slip-ups" get so much media play is the
fact that we have so many alumni in prominent positions in the Broadcast and
Print Media, as well as in the Entertainment Industry. Northwestern is a
high-profile institution, with all the "good" that involves in terms of HS students
wanting to get admitted, and all the "bad" that comes with the notoriety
engendered by these types of incidents.
I applaud the fact that the School took prompt action, in view of what
appears to be the clear violation of NU's "no hazing" policy, which the team was
apparently aware of. I don't know how anybody can think about pinning this
on President Bienen or AD Mark Murphy, as I saw in a recent post. As I have
stated in the past, Mark Murphy is an incredibly impressive individual. We
are lucky to have him, and I have no doubt he will get to the bottom of this
story and make sure that this is never repeated.
