(well, East coast bias would be a great miscarriage of justice)

Thought I saw this in the Tribune this morning. Wondered who the 2- and 3-seeds might be.

I don't know Zach or his work that well, but I certainly admire his passion

The seeds:

1 Duke
2 Virginia
3 Georgetown
4 NU

Here were the rankings:

1 NU 15-1 .938
2 UVA 15-3 .833
3 Duke 15-2 .882
4 Georgetown 12-3 .800

Against ranked teams ? I come up with

NU 9-1 .900 Goals 163-97 Diff 66 6.6 per game
UVA 9-3 .750 Goals 145-94 Diff 51 4.25 per game
Duke 10-2 .833 Goals 149-107 Diff 42 3.5 per game
Georgetown 8-3 .727 Goals 101-80 Diff 21 1.91 per game

Against top-8 ranked opponents ? here we have

NU 2-1 .667 Goals 43-34 Diff 9 3 per game
UVA 4-2 .667 Goals 63-55 Diff 8 1.33 per game
Duke 7-2 .778 Goals 99-80 Diff 19 2.11 per game
Georgetown 4-1 .800 Goals 46-41 Diff 5 1 per game

Amongst the top 4 seeds ? Here we have

NU 0-1 .000 Goals 10-16 Diff -6 -6 per game
UVA 2-1 .667 Goals 28-26 Diff 2 0.67 per game
Duke 2-2 .500 Goals 44-42 Diff 2 0.5 per game
Georgetown 1-1 .500 Goals 16-14 Diff 2 1 per game

All of these numbers are starting to confuse me. Are we suffering from not playing enough top-8 and top-4 teams ? Does anybody happen to know who the members of the selection committee are ?

As a White Sox fan, I know the value of having a chip on your shoulder at post-season time, especially if it is the 'East-Coast Establishment' that is disrespecting you.
