Unless I am missing something there seems to be a edge for fair weather states being that only Notre Shame(11th), Northwestern(17th), Oregon State(17th), and Nebraska(21st) are from the north out of the top 25.  Even Oregon State has fairly moderate weather.  Note:  I intentionally excluded Georgetown, because it was carved out of a southern state and therefore is southern.

Why the sudden renaissance in non-revenue sports?  Can it be after affects of the football success highlighting our athletics reputation?  Could it be the stars aligning with some good young coaches?
