[NU Sports] "Northwestern" Wins!!!

Hah - as much as I like to see the Big Ten do well in
the Big Dance, it was fun to live vicariously through
Northwestern State today. It didn't hurt to see them
in purple gear and have the announcers REPEATEDLY call
them "Northwestern" ... or that they hit a last-second
shot to beat the hated Hawkeyes.

Iowa really choked that game - would IU still want
Alford? Sheesh.

Overall, an average showing so far by the Big Ten --
Wisconsin stunk up the joint and Iowa choked, but OSU
showed poise down the stretch, Illinois' future looks
bright and Indiana got a nice rally win. MSU's all
that's left for the opening round, and they *should*
win tonight.

I wonder if Big Ten coaches are glad Carmody's in the
Big Ten simply because it has someone with a "style"
offense that helps them when they run across a similar
team in the NCAAs (such as Illinois did with Air Force
and OSU could with Georgetown) and it doesn't
blindside them. Sorta like someone running the spread
or option in your league in football so you're more
familiar with it at the bowl game.

Well, still much of the day left. One day we *will* be
watching the real Northwestern on one of these!:)
