Oh please - maybe we should avoid states where they
sell liquor as well. Another activity that some can do
responsibly and others become addicted to.
There are casinos in Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin
that I know of ... guess that knocks out half the Big
Ten schedule. And pretty much every state has a
lottery.
I dunno why we scheduled Nevada themselves -- UNLV is
a better option for fan vacation packages,
publciity/name and -- given the Wolfpack's rise --
chances of winning. But the gambling issue is just
silly. I'm not sure which is more ridiculous --
college sports pretending to care about academic
concerns on players (while allowing bizarre schedules
on school nights in sports) or pretending that
gambling -- from Vegas to office pools at March
Madness -- is not a big reason many people watch the
game.
