[NU Sports] Re: Stunned sadness

Sadly, I woke up this morning to the press conference
to find that this was not a bad dream.

The weekend of the Fourth brings memories for the NU
community of another coach tragically lost in Byrdsong
-- completely different circumstances here, but the
same shock and sadness. I can't imagine the pain this
loss has put on his family, coaches and team.

As others had mentioned, Walker loved the ideals of NU
so much and many of us loved that he saw Evanston as a
destination instead of a step. He graduated his
players, ran a good program and really seemed to be
putting together something that would last with the
program. I'll miss having him on the sidelines and in
the lives of our student athletes.
