Interesting read and good points - I always enjoy the
former Daily writer's column online.

Too bad Stewart didn't start covering sports a few
years earlier (his list criteria), because I'd have to
think that the 17-15 NU game in South Bend would have
to be on the list for games in the past 15 years. 

Not only did it usher in the new era of "anything's
possible" in college football, giving rise to upstarts
and putting pressure on coaches ("If they can do it at
Northwestern ...") ... it was also the beginning of
the decline of Notre Dame football! We had a lot of
important games in '95 where we had to prove ourselves
as real again and again (Michigan, PSU, etc.), but it
was the stunner in South Bend that shook the college
football universe.

Good to see Stewart's column going weekly -- it means
that football season is creeping closer! Beat Miami!!!
