I wonder how many on this list are old enough to remember Jack Quinlan,
who preceded Vince Lloyd on Cubs radio broadcasts in the 60's?
Swing-and-a-miss!
My first job after graduating from Northwestern was at WGN-TV where my
primary responsibility was designing scenery. I worked in a department at WGN
titled "Production Facilities" where part of our duties were to furnish Hamms
beer for the commercials to the on air team of Jack Brickhouse and Harry
Creighton with Vince LLoyd doing the pre-game shows. In my humble opinion those
three were the best broadcast team Chicago has ever seen. I could really tell
some humorous stories about those days. (We also broadcast the Bears and
Cardinal football games)
