My only problem with Joe Moorage is his unending defense of Barry
Bonds. Otherwise, I think he does great analysis of a game. On the
topic of Bonds and drug users, we go see the Wilmington Delaware Blue
Rocks, a single A farm team of the Red Sox. Where we sit there are
invariably scouts from various major league teams watching, I spoke
with one of them the other day and he told me that when you start
watching kids early on at the high school level and all of a sudden they
balloon up in size, you know its not normal growth. A lot of them are
using over the counter growth enhancing drugs which he thinks is going
to crate problems for them in later years. There wasn't much doubt in
his mind about Bonds sudden improvement in performance.
