[NU Sports] Rant on broadcasting: (Was: White Sox vs. . . .Everyone)

No apologies here, but the absolute best Baseball PBP guys are still Vince
Scully and John Miller. Right behind are Chuck Thompson, Harry Carey [after 4 or
5 beers] and Brickhouse - there was a pretty good guy in St. Louis for years
also, Jack Buck.

NU Alum Josh Lewin was a decent PBP guy in AAA Rochester. He didn't have the
deep pipes that the Orioles like [Miller, Joe Angel] but some of his talk show
stuff was absolutely hilarious. He used his music background to produce parodies
that skewered [sic] the various foibles of sports in Baltimore.

And the funniest audio you will ever hear is Jon Miller doing a sendup of Vince
Scully during a rain delay in Baltimore. He went on for over 20 minutes about
the "zen" of baseball - if you love Scully, its fabulous. I still haven't
forgiven Peter Angelos for losing Jon here in Balto - he is truly one of a kind.
If I can find a link to the bit - it used to be on the web somewhere - I'll post
it.
