[NU Sports] LB coach

When did he do his stint in the Navy?  Did his coaching time at the 
Academy double as his military service?  All of his official bios 
mention that he is a retired lieutenant (O3 in the Navy, equivalent to a 
  Captain in the other branches), but they don't give any details of his 
service.  Assuming that most his time was reserves (and wouldn't he need 
20 years to get the "Retired" label?), when did he do his active duty?
