[NU Sports] LB coach

Just to clear up some info:

Randy Bates was Defensive Coordinator at Louisiana Tech (not LSU).  He
had previously worked with NU's current DC, Greg Colby (while at Kent
State).  Jerry Brown is currently an assistant head coach and
defensive back coach.  He was replaced as DC when Walker brought in
Colby before the 2002 season.

I think if anything this move shows that Colby will probably stick
around for at least a little while, despite the fact (as some members
of this list have observed) that he was "jumped" by Fitz on the
coaching ladder.  It looks like he is bringing in someone who he has
worked with before (showing he had a say in how things went and will
probably stick around).  The large role the coordinators will be
playing in the coming seasons while Fitz gets his footing will be
important in the success of the team, so it's good that they're
committed to the program.
