As this was my prediction I will respond.

I will exclude new coach and new quarterback arguments, but give some
other points.

We are 1-5 vs. Miami(OH) with the last win being in 1963 with their
coach.

MAC teams get psyched to play BCS schools, especially at home.

We seem to come into the first game unprepared. Since 1995 we are 7-6
in openers. We had good wins vs. Notre Shame('95) and Oklahoma('97),
but we had awful losses against Wake Forest('96), Miami('99), and Air
Farce('02). The 5 missed field goal TCU('04) debacle still gives me
nightmares.

I don't discount Nevada, but once they see our Miami loss and some
marginal play against weak competition in the following two games they
will get overconfident. With three games behind him our QB will be
more comfortable and the playbook will open up. Also he will be
battle tested having to rally the team and be used to playing tight
games.

Why do you think Miami is a loss? They return 2 starters on defense
and 5 on
offense. I think with a 2nd year coach and lots of inexperience, we
should
definitely win this game, even breaking in a new quarterback, given
all that
they will be breaking in. I think Nevada will be whole lot tougher.
