Well, it was certainly what NU needed. We've gone from
shock and sadness to reverent energy and humbling hope
with Fitz. I loved reading all the commentary from
fans and press -- particularly Bill Curry's open
letter to Fitz on ESPN.com. I think a lot of people
will be rooting for our new coach.

I don't think fans would have any problem with that --
there are just some, including me, who did not want to
see GB come back as head coach. I'm not mad at him or
anything, I just thought it wouldn't be a good move
for the future whereas Fitz is the right move and if
he brings in GB as a consultant or whatever the NCAA
rules allows, good for him.

:) - dunno if I can make THAT promise -- I'll probably
criticize a few things in recaps this year. But I
think what the press and fans will have this year is
understanding for the situation. We'll know that this
is not ideal or even fair for the coaches and the
players -- as long as they go out there and compete,
hustle and make us proud to cheer our lungs out for
'em, we'll be fine.
> rest of the "Wildcat
> Nation", as Fitz called us at the press conference,
:) - I kinda like that. Surely not the size of Sooner
Nation or Husker Nation, but just as Fitz was
conscious of saying "we" and "team" at the conference,
he made an effort to include NU fans worldwide and I'm
sure he's going to do a fantastic job of rallying
alumni worldwide just as his energy will fire up the
team.
