[NU Sports] Ex-Northwestern Factor

Interesting that starting NFL positions that NU players are filling appears
to have changed from the occasional receiver (most recently Bates) to
linemen and LB's with spot RB starts.

It is true that, just as RW promised, more NU players are in the NFL than
ever before.  But for some reason they aren't at the receiver position.  Why
is that?

Harry,
You are correct with Jim Lash, a star receiver (along with Barry Pearson of
the Steelers) on the 1970 and 1971 Wildcats.  Another Viking on those teams
was our former tight end,(also from '70 and '71 and I believe '72), Steve
Craig.  I met Steve Craig by happenstance about 15 years ago at the
Greensboro
(N.C.) Airport, wearing an NU varsity jacket.  He was a really  nice guy.
