[NU Sports] What's the matter with Stanford basketball?

UoM is really big into club sports too. They have the student population to
support a lot of club sports, but they have a bunch of different levels
ranging from simple pickup and coed recreational to traveling
intercollegiate. They have some great facilities for these sports too.
They also have a football program that turns $26M in profit every year.
One of the other advantages that Stanford has is that you can play outdoors
12 months a year. So it's going to be a lot less expensive for them to
facilitate a lot of these activities compared to NU. NU can still do a lot
more to encourage these activities, but it's going to take a lot more
football wins to get the budget to where it needs to be to provide the
indoor facilities required to host a comparable number of sports.

One of the great things about Stanford is the support they give to their 16
"club" sports. More than 1000 people participate in these diverse sports
like ice hockey and rugby. I don't think NU still has any club sports like
ice hockey that I played as an undergrad.
