I think they also have to consider the fact that the BT has CHANGED
offensively overall.  Many teams in 95/96 ran some ball control run-first offense, throw as a last resort leading to a good overall defensive ranking.

Also, we were TOTALLY exposed in the secondary against USC and Tennessee, two throwing offenses, in those two post season games.  Many teams (BT especially has changed in this respect) are now running some form of the spread/quick strike/West Coast offense which means MORE SCORING overall...
