[NU Sports] NU-Wisconsin

Gotta admit that I forgot it was on TV with work and
all - darn! Hard to stay in the thick of Big Ten hoops
out here in Pac 10 land!

But I will disagree with the "boring" comment about
the style. I love the Princeton offense and think it
can be quite an exciting style of play to watch for
fans. The key is executing the fundamentals and we
seem to have finally figured out the free throws, so
it's a tough style to beat when things are clicking!

I will agree though on the NIT -- it's nice to see
postseason action (though it's not guaranteed with a
winning record - we've been snubbed before), but not a
huge step for NU hoops.

Maybe we're just cursed on the court? I mean, this was
set to be a big leap forward year for NU ... but then
TJ Parker makes an ill-advised decision to leave early
for the draft and Mike Thompson's departure was a big
blow. You just gotta wonder what might have been with
a senior point guard and a true big man in the post!
VV and Hachad have played some great games and VV
especially has become a true leader. But in a sport
where few teams have that senior leadership, having
all four of those guys on the court might have been
what we needed to get into that elusive dance.

But I guess it wasn't meant to be this year ... I
still think Carmody's a perfect fit for NU and the
same rule from football applies - any season where you
beat Iowa and Wisconsin is a GOOD season in my books
and sending the hated Hawkeyes and Behdgers out of
Welsh-Ryan with a big ole L in a year when both are
ranked and NCAA bound can't be all that bad!!:)

GO CATS!!!
