[NU Sports] coaches leaving

I don't know whether it is a cause for concern.

I don't know whether it is a good thing or a bad thing.

All I know is that more high profile coaches from RW's staff left this year
than in previous years.

Sort of like global warming.  We can all see the evidence, but we can't all
agree on what it means.

For years (possibly decades) it was an article of faith among Husker fans
that stability within the coaching staff was a large component of the
Nebraska success story, despite quite a bit of evidence to the contrary.

Point 1:
When the head coach (Osborne) retired and Solich was elevated to take over,
all of the assistant coaches stayed on, and within a few years they 'led' 
the Huskers to a 7-7 record.  Wholesale changes among the assistant coaches
followed, and the team rebounded to 9-2, but the new AD fired Solich anyway.


Point 2:
When the head coach (Devaney) retired and Osborne was elevated to take over,
most of the assistants left.  Osborne never won fewer than 9 games a year in
his 25 seasons at Nebraska.

I find it interesting that the same assistant coaches that so many were
willing to dump are now a cause of concern because they're leaving.
