Could be indeed, but it's not all that unexpected ...
I thought we might sneak one out today, but Purdue
looked awfully flat and Minny choked big-time. And you
can throw out the Alamo Bowl. First off, neither team
deserves to be there but for different reasons (Texas
got shafted worse than just about everyone but Rutgers
in the bowl shakeup) and secondly, it's practically a
Longhorn home game (well, most Big Ten bowls are in
opponents' back yards, but this is worse:) ).

But remember that we started slow last year and woke
up in the new year. Had Iowa not gotten shafted by the
refs, we'd have been 4-0 with Wisky's upset and PSU
and OSU winning.

I think we have a decent shot to repeat that feat
again this year. JoePa's an exceptional bowl coach and
if he can get that offense to just not turn it over,
they'll hang in there with Rocky Top. And Wisky,
Michigan and OSU are the better teams on paper ... of
course, the games aren't played on paper.:)

But after a dreary start to the bowl season (we need
to limit the CUSA and MAC bowl bids!:) ), things
really picked up with the games today. It'd be nice if
the BCS lived up to last year's thrillers, but I have
a feeling none of the four on Fox will be within
single digits. Hope Barry Alvarez (ick) is good at
filler ... and thank goodness the Musburger game in
Pasadena shouldn't need that filler! :)

Still amazing to think that a decade ago at this time
we were all in Orlando and a "Big Ten" decade ago was
that magical week in Pasadena. Hopefully we're back in
the postseason mix next year.

Go Big Ten!
GO CATS!!!
